To kick off the peak event, the organizing committee began with some launching activities some time ago. The launching of this festival was held on Saturday (1/8) evening in front of Kapitan Phang Tjong Tjoen, Jalan Depati Endek.
The choice of launching location is due to the historical building of Kapitan House on the road, currently the condition is far from crowd activities at night. While the location of the festival takes the background of soft white sand and beautiful scenery on Tanjungtinggi Beach, Sijuk.
In the festival a colossal dance will be held involving dozens of students in Tanjungpandan. This tin miner dance will be performed by students of SMPN 2 Tanjungpandan and SDN 32 Tanjunjungpandan who are members of the Sekolah Kelekak Nature School.
It will also feature Yudha acoustics, Tunas Wiyata Dance Studio, Lesung Batang Karang Taruna Dance Studio, Gofika and Soul Band. The committee will also present Indonesian dance stylists who were once part of the Madona group, representatives from Jogja, Maluku and Aceh.
The peak event is expected to draw the attention of tourists to come to Belitung to enjoy the event. Even vocalist Slank Kaka also expressed his interest in seeing the Tin Miner Dance. (*)
