Belitung Fair was held to commemorate the 177th Anniversary of Tanjungpandan City (HJKT) which fell on July 1 and the 70th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia which fell on August 17. This activity was held by Belitung Regency Government through the Department of Industry and Trade Cooperatives (Diskoperindag) of Belitung Regency.
The aim is to improve people's economy and tourism through promotion and investment. Dozens of booths available were not only filled by SMEs in Belitung, but also from various regions outside Bangka Belitung also participated in the Belitung Fair.
Various local superior SME products from various regions are available at Belitung Fair. Ranging from various food products to knick-knacks produced by the activists. This activity is also a rush of visitors who are local tourists and from outside the area.
"Belitung has tremendous potential. The beaches are good, the sand is good. It just needs further development," said Puspayoga.
The potential of the natural beauty of Belitung must be supported by the development of SMEs to advance tourism. The creative housing industry is a shot at developing tourism. Puspayoga cautioned that the provincial government and district government always encourage Belitung as a tourist destination.
"Belitung tourism is very good, it just needs to be packed with more SME craftsmen. It has already attracted tourists, plus the appeal of the friendly Belitung community," Puspayoga said. (*)
