WHO is familiar with the beauty of the Maldives. Country located in the Indian Ocean is known as a vacation spot for celebrities. The beauty of the country covering an area of no more than 300 square kilometers is a tourist magnet.


Soon this beauty can be enjoyed by the people of Indonesia and the world with no need to come to the Maldive. Well, the central government through the Ministry of Tourism wants to create a new Maldive in Indonesia.


Tourism Minister Arief Yahya was fascinated by the beauty of marine tourism in the waters of Belitung Island, Babylon. The beauty of the location of the waters of Sijuk Subdistrict is considered almost equal to Maldive, only requiring a small touch to beautify it.


"Here (Belitung) for marine tourism. Therefore Belitung will be made the Maldive of Indonesia. For access to the central government, everything will go down and infrastructure will be built," said Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya.


Various efforts will be made by the central government to realize Belitung as the Maldive of Indonesia. So that it can become a national and even international tourist destination besides Bali.


Among them are airports, it is planned that the airports in Belitung will be upgraded to international airports. The Jakarta-Tanjungpandan mileage is a distinct advantage for attracting tourists, only around 50 minutes.


The government is also providing a generous amount of funds, for the construction of hotels, with a budget of Rp 8 trillion. This will be done by BUMN and other sectors.


The central government also launched a Special Economic Zone (KEK) Tourism in this area to trigger the development of tourism. The budgeted funds reach IDR 10 Trillion. This will begin to be realized by the government in 2018.


"We are also already dense, the Governor has agreed that all provincial roads will be made into national roads. That will greatly facilitate the flushing of the central budget, and of course it can quickly prosper the Belitung people," he explained. (*)
